I am after a pair of waterproof boots for mainly low level daily wanderings with the dog, and not wishing to spend a fortune.
Last December I bought a pair of those Columbia ones that folks were raving about - they now leak like a sieve.. 🙁
Not needing proper hiking boots, and I have wellies for when it's proper chucking down, so something a bit more than waterproof approach trainers, i.e. more boot like.
Will likely have a look in Decathlon at the weekend but keen to hear of good alternatives.
I have a pair of waterproof approach shoe things from Decathlon for exactly that purpose, they've been fine.
Goretex running trainers.
I hillwalk in them everywhere apart from days I know I'll be up to my knees in bog, then the Scarpas come out.
Surely living in East Kilbride, a pair of Adidas Samba are the mark of a man.
Same as nobeer - goretex trainers.
Buy in the sale / when you see them cheap.
Expect to wear them out, as with all footwear.
Same as nobeer – goretex trainers.
Sport Pursuit have a load of Ecco GTX stuff at the moment - might be worth a look.

did yours stay waterproof ? Mine have had a very easy year, walks and dogs and water pours in the toe areas on both feet, moreso the left. they went in the bin yesterday .. 🙂
TBH mate, I only used them a few times last winter, so not really in a position to say, had an even easier life than yours thus far.
Worth contacting them btw.
For the original brief, I have a pair of these for mucky dog walks etc. and they are spot-on...
But other times I wear gore-tex trainers as nobeer suggests, and they are great too.
Got a pair of those when the wife was getting a 50% NHS discount from Berghaus last year, pretty good btw.
I wear Hoggs of Fife safety boots for work so when I wanted some lighter walking boots I had a look at their offerings and bought a pair of Glencoe boots. Not worn them a huge amount but not had wet feet yet and I'll wax them anyway which will help.
Must be 5 years ago now I found Hoggs of Fife ,they are used by Gamekeepers , Ghillies , Anglers , Farmers etc , the particular boot I bought was called Jason ? 🤔 anyway they are insulated and waterproof I paid less than £60 for them . I used to wear them everyday van driving and for the last 3 years shelf stacking in the chilled section , warm toasty and dry feet and they are still going strong .
pricey but good:
