My youngest turned 9 at the weekend. He's been saving for a while and got some money for his birthday too. He decided he wanted a hoverboard with kart / buggy attachment.

Off we went to Argos yesterday to pick up a Hover-1 hoverboard and buggy attachment.

Put it all together fine, but seems it has a bit of a design flaw...

The buggy, when attached, permanently depresses the two foot control pads (not a problem in itself), but it seems that when these are depressed, the power switch will not power down the hoverboard.

So, he'd be able to drive around fine on it, then go to get off and have no way of switching it off without entirely detaching the kart bit (releasing the foot control pads, which seemingly then allows the power switch to function again).

So, its going straight back to Argos.

Can anyone recommend a hoverboard and kart/buggy combo that doesn't have this unsafe 'feature'? Ideally to buy from somewhere trustworthy, as there seems to be a million and one dodgy looking online sellers...

We currently have a very disappointed 9 year old. 😕

Not sure why there's two instances of this thread - with one that's closed?  Anyway,  this one's still open and seeking useful replies...
