Can anyone recommend a decent place to eat somewhere between bellingham and Hexham? We are staying at the campsite in bellingham and the reviews on trip advisor look lacking. Any locals recommend somewhere decent? Cheers

The Rat Inn at Anick (just outside Hexham) is worth a visit.

Hexham itself doesn't have the greatest selection.

Corbridge has the Black bull (reasonable pub food), or the Angel (slightly nicer pub food)

Been a couple of years since I worked that way but Riverdale and Cheviot always did decent enough food in Bellingham.

Black bull and Battlesteads in Wark also.

Assume evening meal as there are plenty of decent daytime cafes. Little Mexico in Hexham could be worth a look but it's not open late.

The Hollybush at Greenhaugh do a reasonable meal ..as does The Pheasant Inn at Stannersburn..The Boe Rigg at Charlton is also a pleasant place to eat ..all North of Bellingham ( where I live ) ...
The Indus Valley ( Indian)takeaway at Hexham train station is also very good.

Hi Robbo ..there are indeed ..but unless you drive to the start then a lot of time will be spent on the road..
The only way I can help you ( as I've used up my free allowance on Flikr ) is to send you a few screen shots from my Viewranger ..but you would have to P.M. me your mobile number ..
I haven't sourced another alternative to send them directly onto forum posts ..

Takes 40 mins to cook though and serves two. It is stunning. Book in advance as they only have a few tables/sittings per night.

Bouchon is really good.

The Valley in Corbridge is a great Indian restaurant.

Thanks all for the replies. I am afraid that we aren’t going to be able to try any of the suggestions as we had to cut our holiday short for personal reasons. Will bear it mind as we want to come back to visit at some point. Cheers
