You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
Rock Jnr is setting up his Xbox in his room and is buying his own monitor. I don’t really have a clue what is good and bad, save for assuming expensive is good!
Any suggestions or pointers what would be the best budget buy, thinking circa £150 if that is even possible?
Doesn’t need to be daft big, maybe 24”, I think, but he would perhaps say otherwise.
Thanks
You might be better off with a TV for that budget... Just a consideration
I think some compromises will need to be made.
The Series X is a 1440p console and I think aims for 120fps.
Without looking too hard, a 1440 or 4k monitor with a 120Hz refresh rate (to avoid capping the frame rate) is probably over budget.
This one looks nice, I've just supplied some of them for a client actually, but they're £230
If you want to stick to budget, then you'll need to compromise on either the resolution or refresh speed. Your Son will no doubt have an opinion on which is more important. That said, the Series S will also play video in 4k so maybe a 4K monitor is something he'd like. 1440 is a bit niche so there's not a huge leap in price between 1440 and 4k.
I've all but given up trying to buy a Series X so I'm going to be in the same boat as you and your Son soon.
@ pjay, just to clarify, he’s got the S, not X.
I just picked up a pair of benq ex2710 for my kids.
144hz that'll run 120hz on ps5.
My understanding that 120hz 1080p is better than 4k 60hz for FPS games and 4k or 120hz2k was out of budget.
