Bloody hell - now I feel old !!!
I think the fact that she was in her early 30s (*) when Blondie hit mainstream success adds to the incredulity.
* Not that it mattered, tho it was a bit disconcerting lusting after a singer who was only a year younger than your own mum.
Oh wow, I had that picture on my wall when I was post pubescent kid.
😢
I saw Blondie at Barbarella's in Brum in 78 (edit: or was it 77, I'll have to Google). Jammed up againt the stage untill bruised ribs forced a move back. Musically excellent and what an atmosphere!
Was in the crowd for this.
Still have a copy of this in the loft somewhere.

Saw them on their first UK tour. Glad she's still alive at 75.
I'm impressed she made it to 75!

Atomic never gets old.
Saw her at Camp Bestival a few years ago. Expected her to be a bit full of herself but she was great (still stunning) and didnt take herself too seriously.
Wow, old enough to be my mum. Didn't actually realise that. Especially not when I was a teenager. 😛
Enjoyed her autoboig. she's certainly lived.
I think it's 99p on Kindle at the mo if anyone's after a digi version of it (oh that was yesterday, £2.99 now)
She was sat next to me in a bar in a hotel in Glasgow. She must have been in her early 50's then. Did look it* but it didnae matter.
* Tbf I think she had just came from playing a gig.
I saw her live at the Kent Custom Show in...erm... 89, i think. I’ve just had a Google to see if I can find a picture. She certainly left quite an impression

No photos of Barb's in 77 to be found on the Net. I found a pic from London of the same dress though:

Just gorgeous and Blondie were a great band, Clem Burke one of the best of all time
I had no idea! As a teenager it wasn’t remotely confusing (probably because I’d already seen my mate’s mom naked 😂🤣)

I think that's worth a spot of thread derailment....
Good reason her autobiography is 99p it's awful. Great life though.

Binners, I was there too. It was 1990 - I still have loads of photos from the bike show. I remember the year clearly because I just lost my driving licence so a load of us went up in my dads car (he had just died so he couldn't complain!).
To be honest, we all thought DH was looking a bit ropey even then.
