When I learned that Rachel meant "little sheep", the choice was obvious.

I'll be honest, that made me laugh. Don't know why, but it did.

I'm interested to know why unfitgeezer is so bothered by this.

As said on page 1 & 2 I’m not bothered - you really ought to read the whole thread !

The temptation to change your surname to Jalfrezi must have been almost overwhelming.

I constantly have to mentally correct myself when talking or thinking about them

Surely you mean 'her' ? Sounds like it's still a struggle. Can't be easy, tbh.

Some people identify as “they/them” as opposed to “he/him” or “she/her”. Could well be what that person asked for.

It bothers me as much as it amuses me when people reply to me in a thread as "Phil". Some people that know me in real life will realise who I am straight away.

I'm not sure why it bothers me though. Probably a matter of not following the convention for an online forum of not signing off, and certainly not with your real name. Then again maybe it's not her (or his) real name!

Any time I have met up with forumites there has been much hilarity over sorting out real names and forum names. Even having met Molgrips in real life as well as other places on the net he will always be molgrips to me. I get called Teej by loads of folk -

Clearly an imposter...
The real Elizabeth the Second, by the Grace of God of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and of Her other Realms and Territories Queen, Head of the Commonwealth, Defender of the Faith, actually signs her name:

Elizabeth Windsor the Second, by the Grace of God of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and of Her other Realms and Territories Queen, Head of the Commonwealth, Defender of the Faith

Some people identify as “they/them” as opposed to “he/him” or “she/her”. Could well be what that person asked for.

They could also be from Wearside , quite common to use they/them instead of him/her
