For the last couple of weeks the birds have been twittering happily away from about 6am, but I don't recall noticing it this early in the year before? It's the time we usually get up so not a change on our part.
Just wondered if anyone else thought the same
We get the neighbours cockerel 365 days per year from about 3am it’s annoying as f@
My local train station is in quite a rural location, very tucked away from the small town, lots of woodland around it and limited passing traffic noise.
It's amazing standing there waiting for the first train at 7am, the whole woods are just alive with birdsong.
Seems to happen all year round, I think it's just more noticeable at this time of year maybe? Spring, dawn coinciding with many people's wake up time...?
combination of being awake and about at dawn, and spring is starting so the birds are singing more (rather than alarm calling or telling each other to **** off)
I enjoy it, even in our wildlife sparse neighborhood
The birds outside the window in our house are drown out by Mrs R's morning trump !!
It has been known to wake the whole household.
I have noticed the twilight chorus more the last few nights as the evenings are slowly getting lighter.
I've often thought it would be good to record and share dawn choruses on here but I don't know of you can upload sound files.

It was spectacular at the weekend in an 8 person room in a youth hostel 😆
I've noticed the birds going mental just recently. I think they've had their annual battery change.
All trying for recording would be great. But the motorway where I live or factories drown everything out. It used to be so quiet :-(. Before them.
Yes, it seems a bit earlier this year. The birds are still feeding like crazy as it’s still cold. Have to replenish the feeders more than usual.
Really happy to have a pair of blackcaps since mid December on the feeders.
Once the weather warms up enough for me to have my bedroom windows open, is when I’m forced to wear earplugs to bed!
There’s often 100 or so lined up along the roofline of my house and the utility poles, 50-60 or so at a time descend onto the tree, and the patio - the screeching and squabbling is unbelievable! At 5am.

I’m currently buying a 12.75kg box of suet pellets about every two weeks, mostly for the starlings.
Come the spring, that might become every week, once the fledglings follow their parents to the supermarket. Add to that loud thumps as they bounce off the windows!

Was it beating up a robin for keeping the thrush awake? (Robins are normally the only songbird singing at that time of night at this time of year. ) 😀
