Are there so few of us left that remember? RIP

The Owls are the ones that know

Such a body of work.
Didn't realise Inland Empire was the last feature he did even if Twin Peaks: the return was described as an 18hr feature.
Loved the majority of his films - always deep experiences that never left you.
Big shout out for The Lost Highway and Wild at Heart.
Not many Directors could get away with doing what he did on screen.
Damn.
Inevitable, but sad and a real loss.
So much great art. Blue Velvet is one of my all time favorite movies.
The effort we applied to ensuring we watched or taped Twin Peaks reached the level of religious observance.

Shocked by the news this morning. Loved the originality of his films. Saw Eraserhead as a teenager (double bill with Un Chein andalou!) when college had film nights, a night never forgotten.
Loved a lot of his music too.
RIP
Also painter and photographer. Truly a creative genius.

RIP David.
I'll put a fish in the percolator in your honour.
Its amazing that any of his stuff got made
Twin Peaks for me

Yeah, i looked for a RIP thread last night…
Definitely a loss. Like others I reckon Twin Peaks was his masterpiece. This probably says it better than I could:

I also loved his angriest dog in the world cartoon 😀
Rest easy David, rest easy…
A disturbing genius whose flare will be greatly missed.
Wild at Heart (I always wanted a snakeskin jacket after seeing that film) and Blue Velvet were 2 of my favourites.
Who else is there that's remotely like him? That man put some images in my head that will never leave and the majority of them remain pretty uncomfortable to behold (not least Sting in his space-pants). I'm grateful for all of it.
It's hard to convey how huge Twin Peaks was on release - it was all anyone talked about after an episode aired.
I may still have all of Twin Peaks on VHS, somewhere in the attic.
The log lady.
Damn fine cup of coffee.
Doughnuts.
Cherry pie.
The owls are not what they seem.
It's hard to imagine anything quite like that coming around again. Maybe Lost got close to a similar level of weekly anticipation?
@kimbers That shot of Bob coming across the sofa was absolutely terrifying.
Here is his last on screen cameo in Spielberg's Fabelmans.
He's playing John Ford right at the end of the film.
I think it's a suitable tribute.
(I'm hearing he got moved during the LA fires and that probably didn't do him much good as he'd got emphysema.)
Great filmmaker and I loved the surrealism he brought to the screen. Huge fan of Twin Peaks. Another filmmaker discovered through Moviedrome.
‘She’s dead… wrapped in plastic’
Re. The impact of Twin Peaks, it was the first time I heard the phrase ‘water cooler moment’…
Tries to remember where he got a ‘I killed Laura Palmer’ sticker form. And why?!? (and also, what the hell happened to the sticker?)
