I came across them filming this on my way to work one morning. I wondered why the road was shut and there were police and an ambulance not doing much.
Not quite a reconstruction as he is travelling the road in in both directions. Nevertheless there is no doubting the message.

I think there's doubt in the message. It does come across a little as "DC explains how to drive fast on country roads without binning it". Would have been nice to point out that it's not just driver vs empty road, there are other people who don't deserve to be taken out by wannabe racing drivers. Doesn't really help that they've produced it a bit like an XBox game with the ghost car and the nice damange-free roll into the field, either.

Yes, but, "he's lucky". Not "the bloke coming the other way was lucky he wasn't taken out at 100mph head-on by some selfish twunt".

I suppose they're aiming it at a characteristically selfish type of individual, to be fair. But even then it really doesn't feel like there's any more psychological impact in that film than there is in ballsing up a lap on Forza 4.

I think the message is you need to be prepared for the unexpected including a wickedly off-camber corner where the fatal accident happened. This includes speed appropriate for the road and condition. To be fair there are very very few nutters on that stretch of road. The main road to Edinburgh is another story.

It is the middle section of the Biggar to Carnwath road.
