Do I just pop down to halfords, the local corner shop or are there better options.

Front and rear cameras, and no I am not doing it myself before you suggest it

We used the halfords mobile fitting in both cars.

Didn't have to go anywhere then and cost the same as going to the store.

They did it really well as far as I can see

Just like their bike mechanics , I wouldn’t trust them to fit a Dashcam ( especially if it’s a new car).*

There will usually be an independent near you . Have a look for Audio / security companies.

i had a black Vue front and rear fitted for same price as Halfords were charging. But it was in a nice workshop by guys doing it day in day out. Not under a canopy in a car park 😁

I have a Halo Ultra with fitting kit I want fitted  . They charge £79 for front and £109 for front/ rear fitting.  If you are anywhere near Saltash I would recommend Retrofit Southwest

* There are some knowledgeable ones , but it’s not like the barbers where you can wait for the one you want 😂

I recently fitted a front dash cam. Used the cig lighter socket as the camera cig adaptor has another useful USB port on it. I neatly tucked the cable behind the trim. Camera powers off when the car is off so the parking function doesn't work. I'll add the rear camera at some point. Took 10 minutes for the front. Rear might take a little longer. I probably won't bother with a hard wire kit too the fuse box at this point but might attempt in the future.

I definitely want parking and definitely don't want to use the cigi lighter because of neatness as much as anything so paid for it will be.

The mobile fitting are just halfords branded as their company got bought out by them.

I doubt I would have taken it to a store for fitting but they guy that did ours was great.  Connected via the obd port.

This makes me very happy I bought a fuse tap and a continuity tester and did it myself. 🙂
