I had a search, but can't see that this has come up recently...
Son has asked for a dash cam for Christmas, and I went looking for the Yi one that I've used for the last few years, only to find that they're no longer selling them (or any dash cams). Nextbase stuff seems to get very mixed reviews.
So - budget is up to about £150, some sort of parking mode would be handy (he only has on-street parking) and if it would do front and rear, that would be the icing on the cake.
TIA
Use STW discount to get a Garmin?
Sorry I've never used one but will definitely be fitting one to the next car.
Watching a few reviews, most of the cheapers one are much of a muchness.
My take was to pick a Viofo (best of a so-so lot) that suits your budget, unless the STW discount makes the Garmin a bargin
I've had a Nextbase one for a few years now, been absolutely faultless and saved me a huge amount of hassle when I was hit by a truck and the driver denied it.
For that sort of money, Nextbase is pretty good.
Thanks folks - Didn't know about the STW discount on Garmin, but checked it out. Prices with discount were the same as Halfords, etc. were selling them (also discounted), but thanks for the heads-up.
Anyone used a "Vantrue E1" ?

Hopefully a good experience as I've ordered one!
I've had 3 nextbase now, they've all been unreliable. Had two 522gw (first was a warranty replacement). They've both had different issues but some common ones as well.
My most regularly occurring issue is the car stop/start confuses it. Then you will notice the blue light goes off and it stops charging and the battery gradually goes flat. Then next time it switches on you will often find the file system is corrupted.
Before anyone says... It's not the sd card, it's not the car (same in ford vw and skoda) , it's not my particular device, it's not the cables. All those things have been swapped with oem parts.
Shame really because it's otherwise a good device, (supports rear camera, parking mode, decent PC software, polarising filter on the lenses, quick release mount)
Garmin mini is a great little camera with an easy to use app.
Next base is just rebranded Chinese tat cut out the middle man .
I've an azdome front plus rear cam. Was about 80 quid and just works.
Had bought a next base for my previous car which was a night mare from day 1.
Thanks again - my 'Yi' camera was direct from china tat, but has been great.
I actually changed my order to a different Vantrue camera that also has a rear camera that Amazon was discounting to £160 with some sort of voucher.

Seems to get decent reviews and offers quite a lot for the money. I just hope it is reliable.
