Sir I salute you.
After giving us Cradle To The Grave on telly this year which was by far the funniest thing on it. I've just started his second book and 15 pages in its a real scream.
Stephen Fry has just lost top spot as national treasure.

+1 very relieved.

Are you aware of his weekly show on R5 zippykona?

They've recently cut availability of the podcast to 7 days sadly. Bloody Tories.

Been aware of his show but only recently dawned on me that I should make time to listen. Used to love his Sunday night show on GLR.

Danny Baker's Saturday morning show is a work of genius. The guy has to be possibly the best broadcaster out there. Pretty knowledgeable on most subjects too.

Thought this was a RIP thread as well... phew.

I have really enjoyed all his football broadcasting through the years, he injects a bit of fun and offers a alternative to dull ex pros moaning about referees.

His football phone in from way back in the day still makes me pish myself.

Almost too clever...I can only listen to his radio show for a few minutes as it fries my brain.

Big fan.
🙂

Anyone noticed that he was usually still pissed on the Saturday show following the recent TFI Fridays?
Most amusing.

He was brilliant on 6-o-6.

Didn't he get booted off for insulting a referee?

Immensely clever chap, but some of the minutiae he goes into on some of his radio programmes leaves me reaching for the off button.

Have just started listening to his shows on catch up. Have they slowed him down?
His voice sounds a lot deeper and I'm not struggling understand what he's saying.

Great guy to listen too. Often listen to his show while ironing. He seems to have a constant quest for and love of the utterly bizarre.

He had throat cancer a few years back. It could be why.

Apparently he wasn't able to speak for about 6 months...

Wasn't a fan of cradle to grave, but put that mainly down to Peter Kaye's diabolical accent. Danny Baker is a bloody brilliant all rounder, LOVE him

I'm undecided but I've never really listened to/watched him.

The only production I can remember him in was when he was on Desert Island Discs and, IMO, he came across as bit of an obnoxious ****. Happy to be corrected.
