Just reported a car via the D&C Police webchat for dangerous driving (high speed tailgating, swerving in traffic, flashing, 90mph+), and the car is also SORNed with no MOT ( So I assume uninsured too).
If they catch up with them, what will happen to them? I hope they crush the ****er's car!
Not a boy racer either, middle aged, dumpy lady!
On the no mot no tax the car will be taken off them and they have trwo weeks to have it collected by a legal driver. 6 pts as well ( or 9 if uninsured)
Dangerous driving - hard to prove without corroberation. If found guilty an almost certain ban
I follow local police on FB, they have stopped two different drivers both with no license, no tax, no MOT, no insurance twice in one week!
They just impound the car and let them go pending a court hearing months down the the line. The drivers just find another car and are back driving the next day.....
Your testimony alone won't get any conviction. I guess they might look for it to see if it's on a road?
Ha my admiration goes out to you for posing such an easily answered question.
NOTHING!!.

Oh ye of little faith 😂
I know the dangerous driving is my word against their's, so sod all will happen.
I'd hope the no tax, mot or insurance would be an easy collar for the plod, so they'll follow it up.

How to prove it actually was being driven if the cops turn up at the drivers address and it's parked on the drive?
A dashcam would help in this situation.
About ten years ago I was knocked off my motorbike by an uninsured driver and I think 6 points and a paltry fine was the sum total of the punishment.
Nothing if in GMP, which you are not, so have some hope.
I got hit by a car that drove off leaving no details. No tax no MOT no insurance. O had there reg.
I informed the police.
They then sent a letter to the registered owner....
They didn't reply to the letter and that is as far as it went!
The police asked 'were their any witnesses?', to which I replied 'my wife who was the passenger'. ' no sorry that doesn't count'
My Hilux was a write off and it totally ****ed me for a bit as I used the truck for work and also needed it for moving house!
Thanks Avon and Somerset police! 👏
So I wouldn't hold outuch hope that anything will happen ime.

Same thing happened to my dad except he actually had all the genuine details of the driver. After the incident (100% their fault - t boned on a main road from a side street) turned out no insurance, no MOT no road tax.
Insurance co couldn't GAF and neither could the police (Cleveland). Basically absolutely zero consequences. Driver was, on the surface, a respectable type in an ok car.
If theyd actually had insurance they'd have been hit with all the excess and higher premiums. So actually less than zero consequences.
No MIB payout?
That only works if your insurer won't pay out. So you get basically a full fault claim on your insurance even though it wasn't your fault😒
As a former claims handler, I find it really hard to believe they didn't pursue the driver. Has the cost of legal action got so prohibitive? Or has the rise in small claims limits made it unviable for insurers?
We used to get attachment of earnings orders in some cases, charges on properties.
This was 20 odd years ago mind.
