We have a P&T Explorer pushchair for the rougher trails, but we need to get a replacement townie buggy for our 6 month old daughter.

The main criteria are that it packs reasonably small, has good sized luggage holder, isn't very heavy, durable and can handle paths (non tarmac park tracks).

Budget is about £200 and preferably from Mothercare as we have vouchers to use.

We're thinking about the Maclaren XT as its a good bit of kit, however we've heard that their warranty dept can be a PITA to deal with.

Can anybody make any alternative recommendations or vindicate the Maclaren XT choice?

We have a second hand Oyster system that folds up too big for our current house and is beginning to fall apart.

We like the look of the Baby Jogger City / Mini (?) but the 'flat pack' nature makes it a bit awkward for putting in the car boot / elsewhere, however anyone that can provide a counter argument to this is welcome to contribute.

There is a reason why everyone has a Maclaren - they are just very good.... light, packs up well and easy to steer with one hand....

We have the XT, had it over a year now and its still excellent!
