This just popped up in my feed - 2 3/4 hr concert from Madison Square Garden in July 2021, on the Foo Fighters channel so the proper high quality footage not some naff phone recording etc.

Enjoy (or just inflict it on the rest of your family) if such things take your fancy

Literally just pressed play on this.

I. I'm a one way motorway. I'm a road that drives away, follows you back home.

Jesus, Taylor Hawkins as Freddie Mercury.

Bloody brilliant.

He does that quite often- worth checking out, esp “under pressure”.

He also took over singing duties on a recent concert where Jimmy Page joined- Dave on Drums, Taylor doing his best Robert Plant - pretty special.

Yeah they did under pressure in the video linked above, I'm about 1hr 40m in. First time I'd heard Taylor on the vocals on that, he was bloody amazing.

Do their talents not end! Oh and I wish I can still go for that long and that hard as Dave Grohl does when I'm 52... Not to mention Taylor hasn't aged a sodding day since the late 90's!

I wish I could sing like Dave, not that I can carry a tune in a bucket, but trying to sing along at a suitably loud gig, after half a song my voice, such as it is, is completely shot! I can croak pretty well, though..

You can tell when they've been on tour for a while as Dave's voice gets worse and he doesn't do so many long notes anymore, but considering he's been at it for 26 years I think he's earned it.

I've never seen them live, it's on my to do list, luckily they don't seem to be slowing down or stopping anytime soon.

For all you Dave fans you need to check out when he played with Bob Mould.
He plays drums for New Day Rising which is just epic!

Hardly Getting Over It is a stone cold Bob classic and Mr Grohl adds some extra umph:

And then, as payback, Bob popped over and added an extra guitar (because n+1 works for guitars too) on Dear Rosemary:

My two favourite rock musicians.

10 posts in and nobody's chipped in to slag them off as middle of the road, dentist rock, while simultaneously citing some obscure Icelandic death metal as real music? STW is not the place I thought it was....pffft.

Are they Dad rock?... yes!

Can anyone, in good faith, begrudge Dave Grohl his success?... No!

Hence the lack of vitriol, even from those of us who lost interest after The 'The Colour and The Shape' era.

No vitriol here, the second and third albums have been revisited on a monthly basis for nearly 20 years (good god, 20 bloody years). It was more a gentle dig at some of the inverse snobbery that pops up on here from time to time.
