Morning All
I'm on the hunt for a DAB to chuck in the kitchen/garden for when the stereo in the front room isnt an option.
It doesnt have to be anything with all the bells and whistles just a good reception and not a ghastly tinny sounding one ideally. As I dont know a great deal about them I thought I'd ask here, budget upto £40.
Cheers all 🙂
for £40 whichever one you like the look of in Currys/Comet would be my suggestion.
this is out of your price range, but ive got one of these (previous model) in the kitchen, and its great for just taking outside to the garden, on camping trips etc. as its weather proof.

It certainly is lol
I appreciate that generally speaking the more you spend the better quality is available but as my overtime is drying up I'm trying to be a bit strict with budget.
EDIT: that said having one with either a usb or micro sd slot would be cool. So much for being strict lol
Sainsburys often have those Red ones (brand not colour) for that sort of money and they are pretty good. I bought one as reception in our area was patchy and I didn't want to spend much on something that might not work. It does work though and well enough for me not to think about buying anything better.
got a pure "one" in the kitchen - had it for 2 years , gets moved outside when washing cars or bikes and its survived and still looks good !
I'm very happy with the Roberts one we have in the kitchen - picked it up for £70 from a PSA on here I think. It's this one - http://www.techradar.com/reviews/gadgets/ipods-and-portable-audio/radios/roberts-gemini-rd-22-79320/review
Can't see a cheap deal on it any more though sorry, but I'd happily recommend Roberts - sounds great.
The recording function on the Pure Evoke 3 is worth it for time shifting - although it is outside your budget.
Funnily enough I've just been looking at a Pure Classic One and One Mini series II. Its £40/60ish and comes with a usb port.
The mini looks very small, whats the sound like?
I have had this one in my litchen for a couple of years now and it is still going strong...

Been using one of these for a few years now
But again it's a bit above budget, sounds is anything but tinny though.
I got a Sony but when I got it home it didn't pick up BBC stations FFS
Took it back to Comet and came away with a Roberts slightly cheaper model and it works fine
stayhigh , we have the mini in the kitchen and it is okay sound wise
i've had the roberts london lady links and the sound is nowhere near as good as that from the pure evoke.
i thought for the size the "one" gave impressive sound .....
have a hitachi ( i can here you scoffing now but it was a present from parents) dab /ipod dock in the living room and it sounds impressivly pish compared with the pure "one"
+1 Pure. Got one in the kitchen and the mini one in my office. Had them for years with no issues.
Looks like the Mini is the way of to go then and its only a couple of quid over what I set out to spend 😉
I'll see about picking one up when payday rolls along, cheers for all the advice guys 🙂
stayhigh ,richer sounds are cheap for pure stuff
Pure Chronos II in my bedroom, really good sound for such a small unit, will be buying another pure unit for the garage in time for summer.
