And it should have went so well.

I've picked up a DAB-equipped VW RCD310 on Ebay for not too much money that should have just slotted straight in to my mk6 Golf.

It does slot right in, but somehow, during the install, I've managed to break something off 🙁

Right in the middle of the male DAB aerial connector on the back too. If you peer down into the connector, you would ordinarily see a thin copper 'plug' sticking up, rather like this one, on the right:

Well, it would seem that at some point in the proceedings I've managed to snap that thin copper plug off.

Dang.

I can still get a signal if I take a bit of partially-stripped coax and push it against the remainder of this plug, which sits up by maybe a couple of mil; however, thats not really a long-term solution.

So my plan is to pick up a coax flylead from somewhere- looking at the DAB module inside the unit, its connected by a pigtail to the 'external' DAB aerial connector, so if I replace the entire pigtail, both connectors included, all should be well.

It sounded great too, when I had a signal....
