You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
After a trip away two weeks ago (on the road bike - sorry), I've been left with very numb / tingly fingers from compression of my ulnar nerves. 35hrs in the saddle was a big week for me!
Anyone got any tips to speed up the recovery time?
It's driving me nuts!
Doctor, doctor - I have a steering wheel in my underpants.
It’s driving me nuts!
(sorry can't help with the hands, have a lunch time bump)
Haha!
A good physio, Stooge moto bars and Ergon biocork grips got me over my bout with CP Del 🙂
googling "cyclist palsy exercises" will lead you to tips and videos that have helped me in the past
Not much. You should have been using the hoods - stops the problems.
"You should have been using the hoods – stops the problems"
How can you say that with no idea what caused it ?
I got cyclists palsy when I rode 250km in the hoods as it was January in Scotland and I was running some barmitts which meant hoods only position.
Varying position helps but if you have a good position on the bike To start with and a strong core that's not just flopping your upper body onto your hands it should help prevent or at least minimise it.
I got rid of mine in time to do the puffer this year but it was touch and go. Theres little more than rest you can do. If I could find the thread I'd pull up the thread and it's suggestions.
A road bike with stooge Moto bars could be funny though
