No big suprise from my last few posts that my MH hasn’t been great lately, however things relationship wise may be becoming slightly less icy....
On another site I saw a link to this https://ascnd.cc/. Not one I’d come across and road cycling isn’t really my bag but might be useful to others! It’s always good to talk etc!
Thanks for sharing that. There’s lots to relate to there. I think it’s great that so many people are open to talking about their experiences.
Sometimes just talking isn’t enough; we have to learn how to be honest and open up.
I’m trying to do the same with my recent experiences with my mental health and being open really does work; I find more people willing to open up.
Thanks pleased it was useful

I find that riding most of the time to be a great help with my mental health but sometimes if I've done too much then this can actually cause me to be a bit grumpy and down.
My ride home is usually the highlight of my day. Not because I'm heading home but because I can take an extra five minutes and enjoy feeling my legs going round.
Had to lug tools to a job today so took the van. I'm in a foul mood tonight.
If I’m feeling down, getting on my MTB is usually guaranteed to lift my mood and energy levels. If the trails are quite technical, then concentrating on that means there’s no spare head space to mull over my worries.
On the other hand, a ride on my road bike isn’t as effective as I tend to churn thoughts over in my head, plus if I’m not feeling great, any close passes from motorists are more likely to wind me up!
So, MTB is my mental health choice 😊
Exactly what vickypea says.
Nothing lifts my mood like a ride through the woods.
