Hello,

does anyone tour or just regularly tootle about by bike and go fishing and if so recommend me what you use. I need a small rod for spinning, fresh water and chucking about in the sea, two completely different styles but hey ho. Collapsing to fit in a pannier and light as I’ll be flying so on a weight limit, not much to ask for. Google has a whole choice of stuff but as usual real world experiences please.

Don't know anything about fishing and getting to location by bike.

But I have often used the bike for getting to field archery locations.

Rucksack for the take down, such as the limbs and riser. Arrows in a wrap lashed to the frame.

Easy to hide the bike when unattended as well.

Funny enough, today I've just bought myself a Tenkara set to try out. Look into that - very portable

I've looked at Tenkara but decided it's not for me but looks good. Thought of strapping to crossbar but I've got 500 odd miles to ride so think it would get a bit annoying unfortunately.

Mounti it up right on your pannier rack leg. Put a little flag on top.

Seems like Josh has a great line in good advice.

What kind of trip are you going to? Sounds like a far-flung plaice rather than something more local and techy, like the Haddock Enduro.

You want to be looking for Poachers' fishing sets. It's been a long time, but I used to have a 7ft spinning rod that broke into four pieces. I kept it in my school bag and went fishing at lunchtimes. I am sure there are much more sophisticated options these days.
