Ran wide on a corner and hit tree causing a deep gaping cut on my forearm.
10 stitches at A and E where nurse told me id damaged the muscle.
Anybody had similar injury and if so what was the recovery time?

If you damaged muscles I'm surprised she didn't get orthopaedics to review you. I would want that if that's what I had been told !

It was a very clean cut but at the point when branch penetrated the arm it caught the muscle, she did say only just. Cant believe how this happened so easily on a section iv ridden a number of times.

My guess is if you needed to speak to a specialist or it might take a while to heal they have told you.

I mean, you only use it for steering...oh hang on...

Weekend a&e not a lot of staff to review it?
Maybe a medic will be along with an opinion but I'd suggest a prompt visit to gp and get an urgent referral to a specialist

Its impossible to have a view on this without having examined you, chances are if the nurse who saw you thought it was fine it probably is. Having a cut into a muscle isn't a problem - cuts into the tendons or nerves near muscles are - its impossible to know that without examining you.

Muscles have a good blood supply and recover well. Thats what they said about my leg anyway!
