Hopefully someone knowledgeable enough on here to help me out. I'm after a way to take maps, google for example, and then customise them to my own particular colour set.
I'd want to use this in larger format print for commercial purpose - anyone point me in the right direction?
open street map (OSM) should let you do this
eg
http://googlemapsmania.blogspot.co.uk/2013/09/5-beautiful-osm-styled-maps.html
alternatively you can use GIS software and OS vector mapping such as Mastermap (expensive over big areas) or the less detailed Open Data products such as VectorMap District https://www.ordnancesurvey.co.uk/opendatadownload/products.html
Not seen that OS Open Map Local before!
Hi, this is something I know quite a bit about as my job is around the the supply and use of mapping data. Feel free to pm me information on what you are tying to achieve and I can look into the best solution if you like?
There are loads of free data options out there which you can use to create a map, I didn't want to sound like i am touting for work, just offering to help and share my knowledge.
Hi Giles,
Didn't come across that way at all. I've just emailed you on the address in your profile.
Cheers,
D
