Just wondering if anyone has some recommendations for a good, "light", low-cost CRM solution to help manage and report on sales pipeline for a new venture. So not requiring the scale of something like Dynamics or Salesforce. 2-5 users.

ACT!

Out of the box it may be more than you want/need, but it used to be very scalable and customisable if you end up growing. It was also licensed for small businesses when I last used it*

*About 20 years ago so some of this opinion may be rubbish, but my wife has used it in two small companies since then and is about to have it installed on her new company laptop so it is still out there and still in use by small companies.....

Insightly is good - cloud based, pretty much all the functionality of Salesforce plus good Chrome plugins to aid email integration, LinkedIn integration etc.

Pipedrive - I’ve worked with better but they were bespoke platforms, this works pretty well - and I’m a moany git when it comes to these systems.

Pipedrive would be where I would turn too. Now had salesforce imposed by HQ and it’s probably amazing - if your organisation has a clue how to use it effectively...

Another vote for Pipedrive.

I found it very good once I got into it.

Interesting read: https://www.reddit.com/r/Notion/comments/dkhoml/advanced_crm_template/

Depends on number of users / inputs. I personally quite like Capsule for super light weight / cheap CRM alongside the integrations they offer.

If you are new co and want to use something with a few more features like Pipedrive / Hubspot it is worth getting touch before signing up. Have seen them both hand out pretty significant discounts to new users in 1st year.

I'm about to implement HubSpot for small start-up I'm at. At full scale it's a bit of a beast but the free CRM seems good, and the integration with your email seems great.
If free doesn't offer enough the first tier starter plan is relatively reasonable price, or there is heavy startup discounts too.

CRM experience in the team ranges from nothing(me) to heavy pipedrive and Salesforce users, all seem pretty happy.

Odoo is free open source modular ERP, which started as a CRM and that is the core. It's probably more than you need - but has the flexibility to expand to to multiple roles if your business expands

It really depends on how big your venture is - tbh there is something to be said for managing using Excel as it gives you lots of flexibility otherwise you can spend more time messing around building the CRM DB rather than using it!

We use the free version of hubspot. Their is alot of functionality included.

Having looked at the full version (they do some very very big discounts for startups), with the right people to set up and use it, it would be an amazing tool for the business.
