My sons having a bit of a meltdown as he can't get his screen protector to fit.Its a Samsung S8+ trying to fit glass protector, not sure if he is fitting it wrong but he has watched quite a few vids or he is on a hiding to nothing and he should try an old school plastic one.
So what are your experiences ?

I have one on my S9.
Own personal experience is if you pick a cheap one, they fit badly. The edges lift really quickly & then you get bits of fluff/dust under it.
I tried a more expensive brand, which had a much stronger/better glue & it's been on there for 7 months now & still looks like new.
Make sure it works with the case hes using though - I also found the cheap one was a bit too deep on the sides, so came into contact with the case (probably didn't help it's stickiness).

I searched high and low for this. There's only ONE glass one that is really recommended, and it's the one that comes with wet glue and a UV lamp to cure it. And it costs £40. So for £30 I got an original Samsung LED flip case that protects the screen better, doesn't affect visuals because you don't look through it, and it has the awesome LED front panel.
I got Samsung ones , first one cracked second would not stick.
Will look at suggestions
go for a PU one.
got a glass protector for my Sony, was really nice until one day I got it out of my pocket and all round the front camera was chipped and putting bits of glass everywhere. Bit of sellotape stopped the debris but now it has inevitably cracked from the camera hole and I need to find a way to remove it safely and stick a PU one on (I bought them as backup ready!).
Maybe I should have gone with a flip case like I had on my Nexus 5. That protected the phone from me slamming the estate boot on it, twice as I wondered the first time why the boot wouldnt close!

I had the same problem with the protector I bought for my S7+, ended up getting a wallet case with a cover.
Only downside with the flip case is that the grease from your skin doesn't get continually rubbed off in your pocket, so it gets grimy and you need to wipe it manually.
I have a Spigen protector on my S9, they come with some special fluid (snake oil) to fit, they are also permeable so any air bubbles disappear overnight.
samsung curved screens are a nightmare all round. after the same issue I bought a samsung flip case like others for my S7 edge which had a really cool window that interacted with the display and had loads of widgets - then 3 weeks later samsung withdrew support for the case after an update and it ceased to work. That was the last straw on top of the bloatware and ui - gave the phone to my daughter and bought a Pixel 3. Its like having android back.
look for whitestone screen protector. UV cured liquid adhesive or something.
Don't bother. I stick mine in a full case.
Plastic case that protects the back and sides, rubber cover slots in to cover the screen.
