Bought a Shark cordless last year from Currys. A treat, really. Normally I'd buy online, apply a discount code etc - but the Shark rep matched everything and said if I had any problems I could come back to him rather than go online.
So I bought it as it was just easier and he was likeable, although wasn't too sure about this 'any problems' stuff.
The first good point to Currys is that a month later I noticed it was £25 quid cheaper now on Black Friday. I popped in & mentioned this, expecting nothing, but a manager was ushered along and without any fuss he had happily refunded me the difference and that was that.
Then last week the motor went berserk. With a heavy heart I went back and told them, expecting a protracted return process.
Nope. They just took it off me, looked at the receipt on my phone and handed me over a new one from stock.
Brand new. Not a refurb, just a new one without quibble.
I asked if this was normal and I was told that Currys are basically authorised by Shark to act as warranty people, so if my Shark breaks or gets shit any time in the 5 years period (battery only 2 years) then they just give you a new one.
In this day and age I think that's amazing - price match anything online & better warranty policy than I've even known anywhere - considering the 5 years, it makes Screwfix look slack!
Something's afoot I hope, to keep shops viable, and I like it.
TL;DR - I've got a new vacuum and more packaging to recycle.
Shark are quite good at their customer service. I ordered an accessory for my Shark Vacuum (car cleaning kit). Unfortunately when it arrived a piece was missing and it was useless. A surprisingly quick and easy phone call to a real human and a new kit was on its way, arrived 2 days later.
They didn't even ask for the defective kit to be returned.
I really liked our Shark when we first got it but now I'm getting fed up with the weedy power if not using the rotating heads and repeated blocking of the main hose.
Our roller broke within a few months, they sent out an higher spec model with 2 more batteries and charger. So, we now have 4 batteries and 2 motor units. One is used as handheld for jobs in the car or around the house.
