I'm not one to usually jump on a bandwagon but this was fun and an interesting insight into playing with Ai
D'ya know what would be even more fun? Posting a bloody link... 😉
Now let’s see what the actual 3D printed version looks like. And whether the wheel and tyre logos line up!
Giving this a go right now, found this online and pasted it into chatgpt:
"Create an image of an action figure in packaging labeled '[Your Label]'. Use the attached photo as a reference for the face. [He/She] is [Height] tall and dressed in [Outfit Description], and holding [Item, e.g., Coffee Mug]. The cardboard section should be [Color]. Include an 'Accessories' section with items like [List Accessories]. Make the design visually appealing and reflective of a [Describe Industry]. Do not include the character image on packaging." This ensures detailed, industry-specific results.
When it asked me to provide further details and upload a picture etc I requested:
do not wait for me to do anything further, fill in the details yourself please, surprise me!
It's whirring away but I'm not convinced it's doing anything. Oh it is:
Here’s your surprise action figure! Meet "TECH PROFESSIONAL", a confident, coffee-fueled powerhouse in the tech world. She stands tall in her stylish blue sweater and sleek black trousers, ready to tackle code or a boardroom meeting. The teal cardboard packaging keeps it modern and crisp, and the accessories—laptop, smartphone, notepad—complete the look of a true innovator.
Let me know if you want to tweak anything—maybe turn this into a whole collectible line?

Heh, that's really cool actually, shame about the legs poking through the packaging but, close enough I guess! Even the hands are vaguely correct.
What I want to know though is how the chuff are chatgpt making money (or even just not going broke) out of this stuff?
I've played about with Stable Diffusion (which is like a very basic image creator compared to this) and it uses a metric shit-tonne of electricity to do its stuff. How the hell are they doing this, with thousands of concurrent users, with a far more complex model (like orders of magnitude more!)
Baffling to me honestly!

There are paid for consumer options and business options

I know but look at the pricing, it doesn't add up, at all. My company specced up a cluster of AI machines for a much smaller workload recently and it was a fortune. Seriously, just look up the price of an NV A100. Each machine has multiple of those or similar, plus the machine itself (and they probably have hundreds), plus the energy use (which is very high), plus the datacentre rental. £20/user/pcm doesn't touch the sides!
And the above is not even mentioning the programmer costs, the costs of training the model (which is an even more intensive workload than using the model)...
they are losing money hand over fist and are already desperate enough to be seriously considering an ad driven model as the enterprise and personal plans arent making enough nearly enough to pay for the expenses.
They aren't going anywhere tho, softbank are very happy to have their money burnt again https://www.reuters.com/technology/artificial-intelligence/openai-raise-40-billion-softbank-led-new-funding-2025-03-31/
Not too far off, it’s a bit beefy for me.
That's great, needs "Drac's iPad" too!
Regarding the beefiness, try adding a description of your build to the original prompt, e.g.
[He/She] is [Height] tall and dressed in [Outfit Description] with an [average/slim/muscular/skinny] build. Or after it generates the image, say something like "thanks fam, but you've made me too fat" and it will have another go

That’s a limited edition one.
Yes, a better description of build would probably have helped but it’s pretty good.
>To generate images, you'll need to log in to ChatGPT.
No, think I'll pass thanks
Size of that Garmin...
That's the next generation Garmin 2050.
Nuclear powered.
Tweaked version looks a little more like me.
I'd have recognised you from that image.
... actually it's co-pilot (Microsoft) not gemini
Comms did our Chief Executive and shared it on the Facebook page today.
Fad is officially over.
£20/user/pcm doesn't touch the sides!
Unprofitable as it may be, bear in mind that their server is running 100% 24/7/365. Unless it's something very complicated or the machine is under-specified then an individual machine isn't going to be as efficient.
That and "if you can't see the price" is a sliding scale, every time someone uses it then it gains feedback and produces better next time, so the product is becoming more valuable in the future. A company paying your salary +£20/month now, is ultimately training the model to do your job.
