Looking at this for eldest_oab - he has saved his own money...

http://www.saveonlaptops.co.uk/CB-CZ5840-745MP-Cube-Chameleon-CZ-5840_1858924.html

He is going to be doing all sorts of Sketchup and image work over the next couple of years of school. He also plans some gaming.

Cube any good? Seems a lot of spec, but with his aspiration to be architect or design engineer, it seems an idea to go for a machine that should last...

Looks like a good spec nice powerful processor. Not used Cube before so can't comment on the brand.

Go for it.

It's a Clevo machine (they make probably most non-branded laptops), so it'll be pretty good.

Clevo machines generally get very good reviews (PC Specialist etc... are all Clevo machines).

Other than that'd i'd be looking around Dell's home outlet around 3pm everyday when it gets updated... and be quick if you see the spec you want.

Even at 3 the dell deals are just not a patch on the Cube.

Good to hear it is other brands 'underneath' - a new laptop on order...
