What it's highlighted today is that EAR de Silva has had a shocker, but... is it fair to put this on the umpire though? I can't help but feel that a very important part of cricket is being killed by this system, that of respect for the umpires decision and good sportsmanship?

Waddayareckon STW cricket aficionados?

good idea they stopped walking years ago,, no ref is perfect, easy to do and precedent with run outs. Amased how accurate they are over LBW and catches when you need ot watch multiple times but yes you just need a ball counter which is a shame

better than the ****satan tour with Gating though

So why not just get rid of the men in the middle I wonder?

We all know umpires make occasional mistakes - its right that these are corrected. I think the system is good - the third umpire needs to be sure enough to overturn the decision on the ground - if its inconclusive on replay as it sometimes is then the decision goes with what is on the ground.

I think most of the calls today went really well, rather than saying the umpire had a stinker, would it not be fair to say that the system works. As TJ points out the 3rd umpire needs to be sure to overturn things and sometimes leaves the decision as it stands, made by the man on the field.

Good effort from Morgan and Colly today after a bit of a wobble. Not the best ****stan side but they have given the Aussies a ggod ride recently

Hmm, I am torn about referrals. To be honest, I think there should be only one allowed per innings. That way, teams would only use it when they were sure it would work!
