I simply can't poach eggs in the microwave and don't have a hob to do the job properly. Any microwave poached egg advice greatly appreciated.

Past experience tells me you'll need tissues, the latest issue of Practical Poultry magazine and a private space to work.

Quite a few years ago our ward (as in hospital) housekeeper got sacked after he, errr, 'poached eggs' in the staff toilet. 😕

Bought a proper microwave poacher thing a few days ago for £1.99.

90 seconds including standing time for 2 eggs cooked to perfection 😉

you'll struggle to poach an egg in the microwave. you might be able to coddle one though.

Definitely possible to poach.

This appears to be identical to the one I have, although Lakeland have added their 'nice shop' profit on top.

1/3 water in each part, 30 seconds in microwave, crack in eggs, another 30 seconds in microwave and let stand for another 30 seconds. Perfect and less hassle cleaning compared to a pan!
