You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
Worked all through the Pandemic shelf stacking for Sainsbury's, been retired over a year most of my activities are bike related and on the whole solitary . Not a lot of mingling going on. Went for a Xmas meal with a few friends last Saturday and one by one a few of us reported feeling a bit ropey. Then via What's App the first positive test came through then another .
I've had an annoying dry cough for a couple of days like I had back in October, that dragged on for 3 weeks 😔I had to go to the doctor's yesterday morning for an unrelated matter . I mentioned the cough , she examined me BP and temperature were fine and chest was clear. Her words it's a virus it won't be COVID .
Anyway after friends reporting their results I thought I better do one and sure enough it's Positive 🙄 🙄🙄🙄 How does that happen? Never had it before and all my jabs and booster's are up to date ? Ho hum Merry Xmas 😔😔😔😔
You'll probably have been infectious whilst in the GP practice yesterday, unfortunately. Might be quite civil and as well to give them a call to let them know that you've just tested positive.
Unfortunate timing.. Lowest point is usually around days 8-9 after infection; if you've not already done so, perhaps get someone to drop off a supply of paracetamol at your door.
Why did you go to the Doctors after you’re social circle started testing positive for Covid 🤯?
Yeah I was thinking of ringing the surgery this morning, GP was masked up the whole time , checked in remotely , reception still behind screens but even so .
WE all avoided it until recently. Son went out with friends clubbing - not done that in many months. Few days later, feeling ill, tested positive, then the rest of us caught it off him.
How does that happen? Never had it before and all my jabs and booster’s are up to date
How do you know you've not had it before? I tested positive around this time last year and had no symptoms whatsoever, only did a test because a lad I gave a lift to work tested positive (and did feel rough for a week or so). 8 days until I got the all clear and felt perfectly normal the whole time
Same here. After being clear so far and jib-jabbed to the max I guess the Hull to Rotterdam ferry was the super spreader zone.
Upside-down burning cross on the front door, itchy eyes, sore throat, runny nose and Sudafed are holding it all together. Breathing is fine atm.... Now understand why yesterdays ride was a bit lack lustre.
it’s Positive 🙄 🙄🙄🙄 How does that happen?
You know the jabs etc don't stop you contracting it? Is it 2020 again or are you really that isolated?
And going to the GP about a cough when numerous friends you were in the same room with have tested + 🤦
I’ve got my first cold in 3 years - I feel rubbish and got to do a 9 hour postal shift today
I had to go to the doctor’s yesterday morning for an unrelated matter.
Give the guy a break, he didn't go to docs about the cough, they just gave him a quick examination while he was there.
It’s very much still around, people are far more relaxed with infection prevention techniques, you were in a close group for a long period.
I visited hospital yesterday, about to step into ward and nurse warned me ,1 patient had COVID. Near miss, I ve never knowingly had it. Fully vacced been to loads of gigs too.
Tbh I am avoiding lingering in places likely to catch it, doc surgeries, and don't touch anything.
and don’t touch anything.
like the air?
Very much here to stay. My wife caught it for the first time a week and a half ago and it's knocked her for six. I've managed to escape so far, but only a matter of time. My brother in law has caught it too, so that's our first family Christmas for 3 years knocked on the head.
Jabs don't give you complete immunity.
I finally succumbed to it a few months back,no really sure where I got it from but by the time I tested positive I’d shared a 2 hr each way drive with a ride buddy
Went to my parents and sat had dinner with 8 family members
All the while I didn’t suspect I had it
3 days later BOOM,tested and positive
Not Ill but still under house arrest
But not one single person I was in contact with caught it
Strange how it works it’s way around us
not one single person I was in contact with caught it
As has already been pointed out, it is possible that you can have it and not show symptoms.
Give the guy a break, he didn’t go to docs about the cough, they just gave him a quick examination while he was there.
You do realise that if the paranoid on here got their way we'd still be in lockdown, wearing non-medical pointless masks and waving at each other through windows?
And to hell to the fallout, destruction and misery that this brings as long no one catches covid. And they then have the cheek to bully and harass anyone who dares to suggest they may be stuck fast in April 2020.
The thread starter was naive in telling folk on here that he had the bare faced audacity to go and see his doctor while feeling ill. I mean, what is the world coming to eh?
This is how absurd and obsessed a militant minority have become, having a go at others for going to see a doctor when they are ill. Let that sink in.
The jabs just lower your risk of getting it - doesn't mean you are immune...
Managed to avoid Covid since the pandemic started. Until Friday night. Mrs is recovering from Cancer so her immune system is still shot. Both of us have tested positive. So a trip to Hospital yesterday where the lovely pharmacy staff left a big bag of tablets by the car (we didn't go in).
2022's final hoof in the goolies I think.
Thanks ads678 for putting the record straight 👍 Just to add to that , my appointment was 9 am first mates positive result wasn't until yesterday evening.
I didn't realise that testing for Covid was still a thing for the majority. I appreciate that for immune compromised and various other groups it is still available, but wasn't aware that there is routine access to test kits and the like (West of Scotland based). I guess lots of us are getting it, along with winter cold and flu bugs, and probably not knowing exactly what we have.
My Missus (NHS Care at Home worker) does have access to testing kits. She is just recovering from some sort of cold/flu but tested negative throughout. She is seeing clients with Covid on a regular basis.
However, this is just becoming another Coronavirus thread, duplicating much of the discussion there.
