..parts manufactured in the UK?

Frame - Reynolds
Hubs, BB, Headset Stem, Brakes, Seat Clamp - Hope
Saddle - Brooks
Cranks - Middleburn

Rims?
Tyres?
Gears?
Bars?
Seatpost?
Pedals?

So Sturmey Archer is our only gear option.

I thought Sturmey Archer had long been part of the Glorious Communist Peoples Tractor and Dangerous Toy Co.

Can you do it without buying any inferior parts than their equivalents, would be a better question. And no, is the answer.

Burgtec make (flat) pedals, bars, hubs and a seatpost.

I think manufacturing is in the UK.

From memory this discussion usually falls down when it comes to tyres and inner tubes. The UK doesn't have enough rubber plantations.

Not something Germany, Italy or France has a lot of either 🙄

Nice thoughts...I am following a similar style for on my singlspeed - apart from the Brooks saddle 😉

FYI , BITD (circa early 90s) MBi ran a feature on this very 'concept', Mavic being used to sort mechs n' rims.

A 'Concorde' (Anglo-French) bike would be easy to put together. Also in a nice nod to the current the state of play in the bike industry -would be super sweet pretty much whatever style you of build / bike you went for.

Surely this issue is not "could you", but "why would you"? You'd end up in a position not dis-similar to those trying to colour-match every component - you'd always compromise on cost, weight and function.

He'd put up a picture of his heroic british bike, but it'd turn out to be Polish.

Nonsense. The French one's are just outside Bordeaux. They just pretend they are vineyards.
