Cause the battery to fail 24 hours later?
Asking for a friend. Obvs.
Be you say?
Depends how old the laptop is. A young one should be fine 24hr later an old one could very easily seem to be dying though.
Yes
Yes. Also can do strange things to the keyboard even when not spilt on it. If the beer seeps under the laptop it can get wicked up and interfere with the ribbon cable connector and also do strange shit to the hard drive giving intermittent faults.
Um, a friend told me...
See, this is why I always recommend the ThinkPad for drinking-whilst-working. The keyboard tray has drainage holes so spills just drip through.
Fond memories of spilling a large White Russian on a friend's ThinkPad and shaking it over the edge of his fourth floor balcony...
It's probably just hungover. Leave it in rehab for a few days.
Actually it is a ThinkPad! Maybe it won't die after all.
Depends entirely on the beer.
Artisanal craft ale rarely causes any problems.
Cheapo Aldi's-own lager will almost certainly have ruined the battery.
It’s probably just hungover.
Dehydrated. Give it lots of water.
Wine can **** up the keyboard. Bloody cat knocked one glass flying. Replacement keyboard jobbie at a local repair centre, and it killed the PC mouse too.
Hopefully you'd saved your draught documents.......
Well don't try coffee to sober it up as they don't seem to like that either
"It depends" but, probably, yes.
Hopefully you’d saved your draught documents…….
You win the Internet, go home.
Yes. A "friend" told me, too. Bitter news, it had to be said.
Take the battery out so you can see incider
Maybe try cleaning the contacts with a scotch pad.
I spilt a little orange juice on a Thinkpad. I turned it off, turned it upside down, then it booted back up and worked for the rest of the day.
The following morning it would not boot. IT support wanted it back so thats all my files gone...managed to get it to turn on by unplugging stuff until it worked....it was the trackpad that was knackered unplugged it to back up files, then plugged it back in to send back.
