Today I got off my couch, and ran 5km. First time I've ran in a wee while so I'm quite pleased. Also found a decent wee offroad route from my house. Happy days.

I did that last week, just about managed 6km (slowly). It took me 5 days to recover!

I was pretty pleased considering that I had pneumonia a few weeks ago.

Good going. Every time I go out for a 'run' it feels like the first time I've ever run. I usually make it to 7k and get bored-I knew there was a reason I prefer cycling

My 10 year old couch potato has today cycled 20k, run 5k and swam 0.5k with his Scout troop to raise money for the Teenage Cancer Trust and Ben's Den.

My guess is that he will not stay awake to see England play Italy. Actually, he may not see the second half of Columbia v Greece from the look of him 😆

But I am SO proud of him and his mates.

Check out Parkrun. 5km runs every Saturday in local parks with club runners down to barely runners like me, very friendly and relaxed. All timed for you with results posted to their website so you can track your progress as well as the person who always finishes just in front of you.
The runs also qualify for BUPA lifestyle points if you use them.

MoreCashThanDash - sounds like a good lad.

Craigxxl - If I ever get a free Saturday morning I'll be right there.

There were 16 of them - my lad was sponsored for over £90, some were talking much more than that, reckon it will have been a good day.

The Leaders looked knackered at the end
