Ok , I'm looking at a Cotic as my next steed .... Looking at the Solaris and SolarisMax look very similar .... Any real world experience with either ? Looking for some opinions .... Usage for me is local trails , once or twice a year bike packing trips ....

No idea about the solaris but my solarismax, the last iteration, is my go to bike. Perfect for bikepacking, climbs well and allows you to fly on the downs.Â

Unless you are looking for a used one, the Solaris Max is no longer in production or on sale at Cotic.
I Have one of the original Solaris with a 120mm fork. For my local trails on the Malvern hills it was the best compromise and the bike I used most often. It was also the bike I chose when entering events such as HOTS so comfortable enough for hours on mixed trails.Â
As others have said the Max version is no longer available.
I have a Solaris Max and run it with a 140mm fork, Cotic stopped making the max version because the geo. overlapped with the Bfemax. Not ridden Bfemax, but I'm sure I'd ride both bike the same way.
