Please god her morning sickness ends soon. Assuming it ever does, I'm after a one-night retreat, not too far from Manchester, bit of walking, olde-worlde pub with great food.
Any recommendations?
Went to Castleton a year ago or so and stayed in Bulls Head which ticked all boxes.

Can't help with suggestions in the Manc area but happy to bump the thread, there's enough from the area to be able to offer a suggestion.

with great food

So that's nowhere then, when you've got morning sickness 🙂

When Mrs Grips was in the early stages of pregnancy we stayed in a fairly nice hotel somewhere in Surrey, forget where. Looking forward to a lovely meal, she ordered something simple. Food came and she almost puked. Had to leave the table leaving me to finish two small but ultimately delicious meals on my own. It was the rosemary on the chicken apparently.

Not the most romantic meal I've had but quite funny in retrospect.

EDIT: Unless you're looking for a place to stay on your own..? 🙂

Check out underthethatch for romantic little getaway spots. Self-catering though.

The Angel at Hetton, near Skipton (don't know about dogs tho). Pub in Troutbeck, can't recall name, supposed to be a good hit and allows dogs.

Rudding Park in Harrogate (best uk hotel for the last two years on trip adviser) and on the doorstep of the dales/moors.

I second the Angel Hetton but also throw The Pheasant in Harome in to the mix.
"The Pheasant has arguably one of the most
beautiful Country Hotel settings in North Yorkshire, overlooking the duck pond in the picturesque village
of Harome.

Originally converted from what had been the blacksmith’s shop, village shop and barns, the Pheasant offers one single and eleven double rooms,
in addition to two family rooms, all set around a courtyard of fruit trees, with its own indoor heated swimming pool."

Excellent location and food very nice rooms.
