You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
Hopefully someone can help – we had a kitchen fitted last year (with a Corian worktop). On Sunday stupidly I put a slow cooker on the surface straddling a join, forgot to move it as I was wrapped up with doing things for Mother's Day and caused it to crack.
I called the fitting company (a sub-contractor of the kitchen installers) to ask them to come out and repair (at my cost for my stupidity) but they said they won't deal with us and we would have to go through the original kitchen installers. Unfortunately we had a bit (a lot) of a fall out with them (they didn't complete the original work despite my chasing them) so I simply can't involve them (and doubt they would even if I asked seeing as I can't get them to finish the original job).
So – has anyone got a recommendation for someone that can come out and fix the worktop????
Thank you
IS it something you could do yourself? how deep are the cracks? are the on an unsupported part of the worktop i.e. over the overhang?
is it white?
Where in North Yorkshire are you?
If you get really stuck, drop the distributor a line and they should be able to recommend a couple of fabricators locally (or if their feeling really generous, they might even send out one of their own technical guys to assess whether a fault of the initial fabrication and therefore warranty issue)

I'm a cabinet maker from Near Thirsk so will ask around when i'm back in tomorrow. As i'm only down the road from you. I don't know anyone off the top of my head who does it. Its pretty specialist. I tend to only work with wood and granite.
I would have suggested rubbing a colour matched adhesive into the crack and polishing it. Something like a 2pack epoxy if often used.
The above advice of speaking to the distributer would be my first line of call. They will be far more qualified than anyone to let you know. They will advise you on home repairs and repair companies.
The warranty claim is also worth asking about as Corian is pretty damn tough and shouldn't easily crack its why people chose it over granite.
But they (PWS in Newton Aycliffe) are saying they won't deal with me and I have to go through the kitchen installers that sub-contracted the work to PWS – and that isn't an option for us due to the breakdown in communications with them.

I did ask them that in my original email but they haven't responded yet.
