Anything similar worth a punt?

Not really interested in another Dyson

Last time Which? did a group test I think Bosch came out best.

We had an (well, two...) AEG very similar; first one was replaced within two weeks after the electronics failed and then the battery failed in the second just as the warranty expired - replacement battery was circa £100.

Great while it worked but I wouldn't go near one again.

On balance, we've had the red version of that AEG for two years no issues. The battery failed within 3 weeks and AEG Sent us a whole new one since then it's been great.

Just checked the reviews, the Bosch Athlet BCH61840GB is a best buy @ £170 witha score of 73%. The only downside mentioned is no attachments, just a simple upright vacuum cleaner.

There are some newer Dyson cleaners that beat it buy a few more % but they cost £100 - £200 more.

They haven't tested the exact same AEG model but the AG3012 version got a score of 55% stating it was good on laminate and hard surfaces but poor on carpet.

Not sure if the offer is still on but Which? have trial period offer for £1 you get full access to their website and review database. Well worth signing up to check the reviews and you can cancel at the end if you don't want a full subscription.
