Am wanting to put music files to my phone. I got itunes to create lossless and mp3 versions of each track - but they are both in the same folder for each album (i.e. not separate folder for each file type) and so I can't copy and past the mp3s over - I have to copy the lot into a new folder, then delete the lossless, then copy to sd?

Or is there an easier/quicker way?

There's some free software called ycopy, within which you can specify rules.

So you tell it to copy from the source folder to the destination folder, but only .mp3

I thought it was simple. At least that's what the Apple-phobics tell us.

Select the songs you want in the list in iTunes, drag and drop onto the folder for the memory card.

Job done.

View / Arrange Icons By / Type.

(Or, Search, *.mp3)

At last, something Windows 7 does well!
Search, as Cougar says on the top level folder. All mp3s will result.
Unless of course you want to keep the folders... unless of course you're using a Mac...

ta Rachel - trying that.

Cougar - would that copy folders too? Seems not - which is exactly what I was needing to achieve! Don't you and DezB read?

I read, it looked like your issue was that you were seeing

track1.fla
track1.mp3
track2.fla
track2.mp3
track1.fla
track2.mp3
..

...in a folder, you never mentioned anything about multiple folders, or copying folders. WTF do you need subfolders on your phone for anyway?

I have a way of doing what you're trying to achieve, but TBH if you're going to be a nobber when people are trying to help, you can work it out yourself.

Phone only identifies albums if they are in separate folders - apologies if this was not made clear.

Where? Where does it say you want to keep the folders??

[edit] Obviously I don't read, or I would've seen your previous post !
