Hey all, anyone know much about these - looking to buy one as theres a hole in the wall currently tapped off, but most look they want to vent vertically, whereas I'd need one that vents at a right angle straight through the wall, if that makes sense.

Was looking at something like this but not sure if they can be adapted - the kitchen is quite small so one that doesnt jutt too far forward would be good:

This is teh space: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1mFlzuREDBJj5SuY92oWQw9krFv3gvx6K/view?usp=sharing

Should be able to put a 90 bend behind the chimney bit of the hood and then out the wall.

Yeah, the visible chimney part is often just for show; internally, there will be a flexible flue which will go wherever you need it to go

Yeah if you look at the photo of the unit you linked to without the vertical shroud on you'll see that to fit that in your space it'll end up about 300mm off the stove top.

Retro cooker hoods were slimline and rear exit. Probably what you had up there.

If it was me I'd brick up that hole and core a new one in a more suitable location assuming good access. If not I'd be looking to see if anyone makes a retro style hood that fits.

Thanks, some food for thought - maybe a simple filtered recirculator would be easier, could always open the back door if theres there's too much smoke.

It's a very compact kitchen, and to me the existing hole in the wall is a bit too low, as in a regualr hood thing would get in the way/look too obtrusive.

I have an AEG which fits/retracts under a cupboard - takes up the lower half of the cupboard but is pretty unobtrusive when not in use

Thanks, that looks like what I want but tbh I don't want to build it into a cupboard due to an additional cupboard taking up space, something like that with a compact, asthetically pleasing 90 degree or 45/45 bend would be perfect.

Although

Loud noise level – like a lively party with friends

At least they are being honest, hahah!

Maybe i'm trying to over engineer the situation and should just fill the hole and use the kitchen door as the extractor :d
