You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
I was made redundant last month and have been given the opportunity to contract somewhere for a month but have no idea what this entails. A quick search tells me I can set up a Ltd company or use an umbrella company. Umbrella sounds best as it may only be a one of for a month and the contract starts on Monday.
Is there anything else I need to know or any umbrella companies you recommend / I should avoid?
Cheers
I'll email you...
yep, for that short a time use parasol or somebody similar. They'll do all the admin nonsense you need doing. If you were doing it for longer then its worth setting yourself up as a limited company. enjoy.
I used these people for a number of years - www.blueintellect.co.uk they were by far the best of the many umbrella companies i've used (including Parasol)
And if you need a limited company & accounting package try www.businessorchard.com - they're part of the same company.
Mrs Clubber used parasol (IIRC) a while back when she was in the same situation. They seemed decent enough. Make sure you're clear on how much you will actually take home though.
Parasol were good for me when I started contracting - only used them for a couple of months, then I got my ltd company set up.
Nice and clear terms and conditions and everything was sortable online.
