Not sure if the fine metal ones are best or the more robust looking but presumably less easy to fit in spaces plastic version.
Looking to fit stuff around radiator pipes etc initially but will be used for other stuff over time.

Get a decent metal one. The 'fingers' on plastic ones can sometimes be too wide and not transfer detail that well.
If your cutting stuff to fit round pipe work, you may as well drill the hole (same same as the pipe or a mm larger)and saw to it, rather than trying to cut a half circle out.
