[Closed] Consumer rights question - holiday refund on to different card?

So, was clearing credit card balances a few days ago. Tried to clear the TSB credit card and had terrible trouble doing so (their phone and computer systems are next to useless). I had no plans to use this card again, and told the guy on the phone to close the account once the balance was received - which they have done so.

Once I got off the phone I realised that it was both a bit petulant and foolish as I had paid for our summer holiday on this card.

Sure enough, I now have the email from Tui saying that the holiday won't be going ahead and I have the option of a credit + 10% to use at a later date, switching to a different holiday (which all seem to be just as risky and much lower value) or getting a full refund after the 3rd July.

We are interested in the last option, choosing instead to rent a cottage in the UK or in France.

Does anyone know whether I will have a big issue getting a refund to a different card than the one I paid for it with?

This was on money box r4 yesterday, crediting refund to a different card. I was not really listening but catch it via podcast. Its difficult due to potential fraud.

The CC account won’t be closed as in deleted and will be able to accept credits to the account. You can then arrange to have the balance credited to a nominated account.

The merchant would be breaking a number of AML and Payment regs by crediting an account where no goods or services have been debited. Not to mention potential for fraudulent activity.

Thanks tony11 - that sounds good. I'll give TSB a ring and confirm that with them.

Yeah, TSB confirmed pretty much that. Said it might take a little longer for me to get the cash than normal, but will be fine.
