"To me, my twins are a gift from God and we're determined to give them a chance of life."
I can understand her not wanting to have an abortion if she is a staunch Catholic, but does she really think she is actually giving them a chance of life (beyond a few hours, days or weeks)?
not quite staunch enough to follow the no sex before marriage bit then?
But the 25-year-old from Portsmouth is reported to be a staunch Catholic who is opposed to abortion.
Ms Chamberlain decided against this after talking over the matter with partner Mike Pedace, 32
I would do the same, but not for any religious reason - she may only get the months they are in utero with them, but at least she will know that she gave them every chance - she will get the chance to hold them and tell them she loves them, before sadly saying good bye to them formerly with whatever type of ceremony is relevant to the family.
I can understand her point of view. I hope she's made the right decision
Polly, give them the chance of what? Just sounds selfish, sorry. I remember watching the documentary about the american girls who share a body, and it looked like pure hell to me.
well this lady clearly believes that all life is precious - and although they are probably never going to live independently of her, she wants them to have that short time. Also, it doesn't say how many weeks pregnant she is, but abortions are not without risk.
But they might live, and then what? I just can't imagine you could look at them and think you'd made the right choice. She became pregnant in December, so 6 - 8 weeks? Is that a typo? Sounds a bit early to be able to tell exactly what's happening, doesn't it?

You don't have to change your name just because you get married you know.
No idea whether or not they are married, but that quote doesn't tell you they're not.
She's a pregnant woman who has been trying for a baby for seven years, if her babies survive she doesn't see that as a negative...
at 6-8 weeks you would be able to tell exactly what was happening with regards twins - identical twins separate safely up to about a week from fertilisation - if they separate later, at about two weeks then the problems increase, the most serious of which is conjoined twins -

"she and fiancee Michael Pedace, 32"
Have to admit, it does seem somewhat strange to me to be a staunch Catholic yet trying to conceive at 18 without being married (I say that as somebody who 20 years ago knew quite a lot of 18 year old Catholic girls).
no, i got my info from the original link -
I think the 'Catholic/abortion' issue is a bit of a red herring, she wants to carry the babies for as long as possible, because they are hers and she loves them - she is currently being pumped full of hormones that tell her this is the right thing to do - I think questioning her morals isn't very fair
It must be heartbreaking - whatever she chooses is not going to turn out well,
Also if she is only 8 weeks , she hasn't known she was pregnant for long - then to be told this, she must still be in shock, there is plenty of time for her to have a change of heart should she wish.
There's plenty of time for things to come to a close naturally - as we all know, miscarriages happen.
We were offered a termination on one of our twins, who was diagnosed with a missing heart valve. Esme only was with us for six months, and was in hospital for around three of those, but changed my life hugely and I've never once regretted our decision to turn down the abortion.
Emotions aside ....I wonder just how much News International are paying them both?
no amount of money will recompense for the health of your child - they haven't conjoined their children on purpose...
i want to know, with those american girls for example, who has control of the limbs, bladder etc.
one needs the toilet and the other can't be bothered to get up.
freaky scheiss. don't see how god has chosen her. if he did, she obviously done something she shouldn't have in a previous life..... either way, if that is what god does for 'his' people, i don't want to believe in him.
