"Mr T is shown firing Snickers chocolate bars at a man who's speed walking in tight yellow shorts, while yelling, "You are a disgrace to the man race. It's time to run like a real man."
The correct thing to do with men in tight shorts is to assault them by firing nut-produce from your chocolate gun?
Is Mr T outing himself here?
its anyone's guess. This quote was taken from a BBC article on controversial advertising. This was a genuine Snickers ad that made it to air but was eventually pulled. Still staggering but you wont read a better quote on any subject today in my opinion.
Bring back the old Flake adverts.
Its a marathon thank you very much.
Cadbury's Caramel Bunny.
I needed therapy.
I read that article. It's hard to say without actually seeing the advert, but surely if it's offensive to anyone it would be racewalkers?

Who's that advert supposed to be offensive to? Crap yes, but offensive - not sure I'm seeing it.
as noted above, confectionery role models were so much more PC BITD

I have to agree with Epicsteve- I don't really see the offence either. The written account of the advert is better than the real advert. Still surprised it was made mind you. Scraping the barrel.
This thread needs more Charlimungus to A)show us where to be offended. B) Accuse us of being whatever the cause of offence is if we don't agree with him.C) Call Cougar out in his righteousness quest. 😀
The simple explanation is what defines a real man? It's the same as saying you throw like a girl, it's never used as a compliment. It may be used as an expression in jest or for fun but other times it's used as a put down.
Goes back to real men don't cry/show emotions etc.
They played exactly on those thoughts you suggest the race walker is inadequate and not a "real man" emphasise the point by exaggerating the clothing and then suggest a snickers can cure all that. The previous ads with angry celebs was actually quite funny. That one isn't really.
(the other way of looking at it would be along the lines of the current ranks of politician's who think things like being gay can be cured)
