My compressor few years old now came with a Schraeder connector which you could fit the old cheap brass insert in.
That died.
The pressure guage died too (Cheap)

I capped off the guage and converted the hose to Presta only by using the Topeak presta chuck.
Great fit but it grabs the valve like a mo fo and you almost slice your fingers off when removing on a nearby disk or cassette.

I have a Jo blow track pump which has a smart head which I could buy another and fit to the compressor.

I've seen those nice KCNC fittings from Clee, Also another compressor fitting new Gun Guage etc but apart from a nice looking Presta connector the Gun is the same Cast shite I think I have.
Any suggestions?

Also anyone used or have a link to the Pistol drill type inflators?
Thanks

I almost bought one of these a couple of years back but don't think they'd ship to the UK at the time, not sure if they do now http://www.prestaflator.com/

I had this problem, and bought one of these:

The brass Presta connector fits it snuggly.

Prestaflator do ship to the UK... I have one connected to my compressor in the shed 😉

Alas I haven't been able to test it out yet since the drain valve failed before the inflator arrived. New one is due sometime in the next few days.

The 90 degree push fit chuck does seem to offer a really, really good fit though, so I am hoping for good things. I haven't been able to get enough throughput to seat a tyre using it as yet since the Clarkes gun that came with it was utter rubbish. The Schraeder fitting wouldn't seal against a brass Presta valve converter properly so I couldn't get even 20psi into an inner tube!

As a sidebar to the discussion if you only want to use the compressor to pop tubeless tyres on; remove the valve core, push on a 3/4" length of tight fitting hose and the weight of the wheel holds the end of the tube onto your blower tip, leaving your other hand free to slap the tyre about 🙂

My shiny Park Tool INF-1 actually just arrived so my current pistol grip inflator with a Topeak brass presta chuck already fitted is going spare.

I was going to stick it on the bay but this could save me the faff £15(+postage) if you want it.
