Soo, new front door time. I've had 2 quotes so far one for £750 and one for £1250

Difference is the cheaper one is a Distinction Door and the more expensive is a Rock Door.

I've ask around and apparently Rock are the best but I've also been told Distinction are a good door, does anyone have any advice? I don't really want to spend an extra £500 just because it's Rock unless then Distinction Doors are crap, someone else has one nearby and from what I've seen it looks good.

If it's fitted poorly you'll still be able to kick it in...

Two Rock doors on our house, lovely things. Like shutting the door of an expensive car and no cold spots at all.

BIL has just had a Rock door fitted. Seems very nice.

Sounds like it may be worth the extra, hopefully I won't be buying one again for a while anyway.

We have Rock front and back and glad that we spent the money. You can spec extras like wire mesh in the panels to slow down a kicking in attempt - slow down even more that is.

Slight hijack - Has anyone used Composite Doors Yorkshire? Seems to be a subsidiary of Lockwoods, and they use Solidor slabs but make the doors up to order.
