Where is the best place to look/calculate the cost of a company car?

Bit of background- I have a review at work on Tuesday which my boss has said will be a good time to discuss benefits etc (only been in the job 6 months) and it got me wondering about company cars. A few in my office have them (the job involves nationwide travel, although not everyday by any stretch).

I generally ride the 10 miles to work 3-4 days a week, would this penalise me at all? And is it as simple as working out the BIK tax calculation based on the cars P11D and emissions then that’s what I pay?

As an aside I’m quite interested in the newish wave of plug in hybrid estates (Passat GTE, Kia Optima PHEV etc), any experiences welcome!

Our company got taken over last summer, I got a car and a fuel card with the old lot, new owners offer car and fuel allowances instead so card went this month, I had the choice of keeping the car until the end of its lease or switching to the allowance now, which I did. I don't know if that's an option to pursue, but it made financial sense to me* - fuel allowance for personal car is mildly more generous for me, and instead of £140 a month tax on the company car, I have extra cash in the car allowance on something I'll actually own (downside of course is that now I have to tax, insure and keep it running - it was quite nice if, say, the company car needed new tyres, to get work done and not see a bill). Swings and roundabouts.

* Caution - I am generally financially inept.

Good luck getting hold of a VW. They haven't been taking orders for ages. Bear in mind if you have a company car and no fuel allowance, the mileage rate you can claim at is reduced.

Comcar listed above have a calculator to see if it's worth it based on mileage etc. As you mainly ride in it may not be worth it in your case.

As for hybrid- I've just got an Outlander PHEV. Has a low electric range but a lot cheaper tax wise than the 308SW it replaced.
