Hi all, looking for a bit of guidance on company car tax, BIK etc please? I'm currently looking into changing my company car and need to investigate if I'm going to be better off or not ! My current car is a Skoda Octavia VRS Diesel estate manual and I'm looking to change to a Nissan Navara Auto 2.3 dCI 190bhp. I keep a mileage log and declare 'private' mileage on a monthly basis which I pay back to the company for private fuel costs. I think I read somewhere that the pick up type of vehicle is considered a 'commercial' vehicle and therefore there is a different tax rate?! I'm useless at this sort of thing so any help or guidance would be splendid 🙂
Cheers
We use comcar to calculate the values at our place. Just put in the desired car and your salary it sorts it.

Navara is on commercial rates - which works out at about £50/month IIRC - for personal use.
However - think of the Polar Bears!!!! You are going to be looking at 30mpg (on a good day) - I don't think I could justify one if it weren't for my commercial use. Depends on your own views on such things though.
Flat rate for commercials afaik.
BIK is as a commercial vehicle so long as it has the 1000kg carrying capacity. Some are caught out by having a removable hardtop cover which can reduce the load weight capacity so keep that in mind when you come to the spec.
That's great thanks for the heads up folks ! Commercial reasons for changing to a commercial vehicle i.e towing etc so needs must , thanks again
