I just need a cheap sleeping bag that will do for summer use only.
Wilkinsons are doing one for £20 that packs down to a stuff bag about 10 x 15 cm. However I have no idea if its actually any good.
So what would you recommend for £20?
Ta
I got one from Decathlon, the S15 Ultralight, and it is! Was £25 though, now £30. Very tiny pack size. 'Proper' sleeping bayg rather than a 'toy' one though.
They do standard sleeping baygs, and 'backpacking' shaped ones.

The quality of mine is better than cheapo Argos type ones I have to say.
Mind you; 10x15cm?? That's incredibly tiny! Woon't imagine it would be owt more useful than a heavy sheet really.

fred how does the s15 perform? good enough for early/late british summer camping (maybe with a liner)?
Yeah, perfect. Used it in the Quantocks early May; actually got a bit too warm inside the tent and that. Use a liner, and you add maybe half a 'season' to it. Add one of their silk liners, and it could be even warmer. That would be a very versatile combination actually.
argos have got regatta ones at half price £12.49, we got 3 of them and used them last week, they are full size mummy bags and were just right for cool nights
Votchy, what kind of size do they pack down to?
Edit: Ah just checked Argos and no Regatta half price any more
Tesco seem to have a couple of decent spec sleeping bags.
nice one fred, i'm always unsure about comfort temp ratings on bags because i tend to not really feel the cold too much anyway so i reckon i'll give one a go. it's the ideal pack size for what i need. cheers.
oh, and getting back to the OP's request, Go Outdoors have a 20% extra off sleeping bags at the moment so you could pick up something like a vango ultralite 100 (which packs down to 30x16 or something) for just over 30 quid right now...
I've hada mountain equipment firewalker ultralight for summer use for a few years. fine for late spring to early autumn, packs failrly small....it was THE lightest proper I could find a few years ago.
with a liner it will be comfy early sprng to latish autumn, inside a tent...
rated to about -1C...but that would not be comfy!
30 quid so not too costly
