Has anyone had much experience of them?  Do the clothes (eg waist measurements) come up as their size guide?

Their returns policy now says

Exchanges

Please note we are no longer able to offer exchanges

Return of Faulty Goods

If the item you have purchased is faulty please return it to us.

If the garment is in new and unworn condition we will issue a replacement.

which sounds like if it turns up and doesn't fit you're stuffed.  I can't see how that meets the distance selling regulations.

Waist size that I normally get fitted for something I got from them recently

Sure you are not reading the policy wrong?

I don't understand your first sentence.

Returns policy? probably.  Perhaps they dont' do 'exchanges'.  theres a lot of places just say place a new order and return the existing.

I was going to buy some of their jeans until someone on here suggested looking at the thigh measurements (they're huge). I did order some of the moleskin jeans which felt lovely but had a really odd deep crotch. Returned and exchanged for one of their wax jackets which is nice.

You should be able to return under the distance selling regs, though.

1) Distance Selling Regulations hasn't existed for years. It was replaced by Consumer Contract Regulations.

2) Under CCR you have a right to reject goods bought unseen within 14 days of receipt and you do not require a reason. Note that this does not apply to bespoke goods.

If their policy is as you describe then they're breaking the law. If the product is faulty then you're entitled to a refund under CRA.

I love these threads. I've nailed many companies to the wall for taking the piss and I've yet to have one not fall like a house of cards when challenged.

The returns policy is right below the exchange policy that you have quoted:

Returns Policy

You must notify us within 14 days of receiving your order if you wish to return an item or items. Thereafter the goods to be returned must arrive at our warehouse within 14 days of the creation of your return notice.

All returns must be processed using our  https://communityclothing.co.uk/account

We cannot accept returns after 14 days.

If for any reason you are unable to process your return via our returns portal, please contact a member of our Customer Service Team who will be able to assist you.

All returns should be made in their original condition, by this we mean.

  • All Items must be in an unworn and unused condition

  • Multi-pack items must all be returned together

  • Goods purchased which qualified for a promotional discount (for example free shipping on orders over a certain threshold, or multi-buy bundles), can be returned in the normal way, however discounts previously applied may be deducted from your refund should the return take your purchase outside of the conditions of the original discount.

while that may be technically true the gov.uk website still describes it as distance selling.

I’m sure other posts are correct. Just an odd way to open the page.

@teaandbiscuits their straight cut doesn’t look any different in thigh to others. Maybe they’ve tweaked it. They definitely have some very wide cuts as well.

On a tangent, their marketing winds me up a bit.

"Our expensive clothing item that feels like a really expensive clothing item"

Yeah, how different is a pair of jeans or sweatshirt supposed to feel when you're spending good money on it anyway?

Possibly. I can't remember but a thigh width of 31cm feels like it would be big

I've two pairs of their chinos. THe flat front chinos I've had for ages and fits nicely. I picked up some pleated front chinos from vinted inthe same size, and it's VERY high waisted, I feel like Simon Cowell

They do exchanges if something is faulty (I had a pair of jeans swapped). They just don’t do them if you need a new size; return and reorder like quite a few other places. It makes restocking easier.

I bought a coat from them in September and returned it no problem. It had a weird fit but no faults. Refund took about 5 days or so

bought Chore jeans recently I'm a 32waist and 33leg and they were spot on sizing, snug around the waist/bum but that suits me and they are moulding in a bit, I got 34leg and have given them a small turnup. Waist height is fine, neither too low nor high

the marketing is kinda hyperbole ( isn't all of it) but to be fair, they are good quality material, good cut and the stitching looks like it;s been done by someone who knows what they are doing, good generous fly length as opposed to cheap ones that you can't get out of because they are short to save money
